'06 Trek 5200 price??

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

'06 Trek 5200 price??

As stated in a previous post, I'm in the market for a Trek 5200. Seems most shops I've been in are trying to clear out their '06 lines right about now....the lowest I've seen a new '06 5200 going for is $2000. Does this seem like a reasonable price (retail seems to be around $2400-$2600 at most places I've visited), or should I keep looking around???

I paid $2k for mine, but it also came with a wireless CatEye, two carbon RavX cages, a Specialized seatbag, spare tube, CO2 thingy, and Look Keo carbon pedals.

Wow...I paid $2,500 for my '04 last year, but I got $100 worth of free stuff from the shop (whatever I wanted). However, it was exactly what I wanted, and was willing to pay the price. For $2k, I'd jump all over it.

I don't know how the '06's are, but mine was spec'ed fairly well for what it is.

Most shops in the Chicagoland area list the bike under MSRP at or around $2200 or $2300. So I would think you could grab one for $2K with a little shopping. Later.

The 5200 it was indeed Bass, thanks for all the input on both my posts!! I'm sure I'll have more questions once I actually get into buying some gear to go along with it, but for now I'm soaking it up!!!
