Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You gotta love the Air and Water Show. I've been hearing the jets all day this week...

One of those did a flyover directly at me out in Nevada before about 100 feet off the ground. That was pretty neat.

They were out practicing yesterday all afternoon. Don't seem to be out today - too overcast? When I was walking down Jackson to the train, about 4 went zipping right overhead. Very cool.

They actually run through almost the whole airshow today including the announcers over the loud speakers down at North Ave beach as well. Had to ride back to work before the Blue Angels. Next year I will bring my son and we will bike over on Friday for the whole thing. Lakefront was pretty empty considering.
Packed tomorrow!!! No aero bar riding allowed on the bike path Sat or Sun.

Was wondering why I saw a B-1 flying over my head while I was out at an accident today, that was way cool. Didnt know about the show this weekend.

I totally didn't realize that the show was this weekend. Both of our buildings are right next to Ohare so hearing constant air traffic drowns out everything. I'd be able to tell a military engine with enough time to get outside and see it, but I just haven't been listening for it....

Cool to know that someone else out there likes that slow, ugly, POS. Absolutely my favorite aircraft.
