Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

What bar tape do you use?

I'm using the stock Bontrager tape which seems to rip easily. Looking for some good gel tapes.

I use some bontrager bar tape, and it's pretty comfortable. If you want gel tape, I think Fi'zi:k makes some, and speciailized has its bar phat tape.

I've been using the Bonty tape for a year, no rips yet. But the same stuff is made by Cinelli and others, its just badged differently. Padded Vinyl is slippy and holds sweat, looks cheap and is pretty poor at padding.
I use the old gel tape to wrap the drop hand position and above the hoods, then use a second layer to finish. Cushy, grippy and durable, even in white

Cinelli cork (without the gel) for me. I wish that it came in plain solid gray.

I usually use Cinelli cork, but I've been trying other things.

I'm currently using Stella Azzura Eleganza tape, and probably won't use it again. It's a PITA to wrap tightly, and it leaves gaps around the bends. It's easier to clean than cork though, and it's grippy.

I have a few other boxes of various assorted tapes to go through before I have to buy more, so we'll see how those work out.
