Ostuni to Ride at USA ProCycling Championships!

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ostuni to Ride at USA ProCycling Championships!

Yes, 'at' in the sense that the Palmetto Peloton Project Ride I'm doing will be on the same roads the pros will be racing over the next day at the Championships.

Big cycling weekend for Greenville. The ITT is Friday, the PPP Saturday (raised $30k for the LAF last year), and the Road Race Sunday....

Pretty cool commercial is running on local TV to promote the event... Suggests that Hincapie, Z, and other notables will be there...

Can't take Friday off for the TT, but will see the road race Sunday, which is ~120 miles on what looks like a fan-friendly route: five 'laps' of a 20-something mile course that includes 5-climbs of Paris Mountain... so hopefully we'll get to see the peloton several times...

If you're around after the P3 ride, there will be a cycling expo downtown. Some free concerts, including Sister Hazel, booths, Athlete Presentations, etc. Y'all come! There are still some rider slots available, so if you're in the area check it out.

Bittersweet and I are going down fo rthe race on Sunday. Might have a couple of friends with us too. I printed out the tips page on the website, it had some suggestions for spectators.
