Completed bike weights.

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Completed bike weights.

Just slapped my new wheelset on and weighed my bike at the shop. For some reason I never weighed it before. Came out to 17.8 lbs.
I'm just wondering how my 10 year old Klein compares to some of the modern bikes especially carbon ones.
Only full bikes not just frames.

80 3Rensho, 51.5 cm, back in the day with Fiamme yellow rims and Clement criterium setas, shade over 19 lbs.

Losing a pound on you is exactly the same as losing a pound off your bike.

Those weights are bogus. Weigh your bike with your saddle bag that contains your extra tubes, patch kits. Then slap on your water, and for those that have frame pumps etc

I bet it will be over 20!

Not bogus. My bike weighs 18.75 pounds. I do not use a saddle bag. He did not ask for weight of water. There is such a thing as a bike weight. Now if you want to talk about riding weight that is a different question.....I weigh 139 pounds so yes it would be over 18.75.....

my vintage steel with 105 comes in exactly 25lbs. i know many would consider this a bad smell away from a garbage truck, however its my first roadie and its very responsive to my taste. plus it came with nice aero wheels so i had to have it.

^those are some light bikes.

so it seems like I have my bike at a decent weight compared to everyone else. when I finally decide to rebuild it with either new ultegra or chorus/centaur it should drop a little weight again.

The weight as you state above is meaningless. Everyone carries different tools in their bags, and people carry different amounts of water (plus, you consume water as you ride, so the weight would change). There would be no way to compare bikes if you weighed them fully loaded, just like when you weigh yourself you don't do it with your winter boots and jacket on.

Bikes are weighed bare to make comparisons relevent.

That is exactly what I wanted to say but I was just going to ignore him.

You forgot to list your bike weight.

14Max, All but the CFR are 58 CM, the CFR being a 60 CM. I haven't weighed and recorded the weight on my two KHS bikes nor the Basso, but they will all be heavier than the ones I listed

2005 Orbea Orca/ Duraace. 17lbs....... It may weight a tick over that now that I have pulled of the michelins and mounted vredsteins.....

Funny I have an aluminum guru that weighs just over 18lbs, not much heavier aye**********?? However I'm much faster on the orca due to the wheels (mavic ssc) and fit of the bike itself.

Well anywho, I do love my bike........

One thing you have to admit, is that bike does not have a seat that anyone with a decent set of cahonies would ride HEHEHEHE! Put a seat on that puppy and I think it would weigh the same as mine

Funny thing is that I find minimalist type saddles quite, if not more, comfortable than larger models. I have a Selle Italia SLR Kit Carbino, 2 Selle Italia SLR XP's and a Specialized Toupe. All of these are at least as comfortable as the Fizik Arione's they replaced.

2005 Giant TCR C2 - I have replaced some componnets with some heavier than stock versions that are meant to last...

I just weighed it with Shimano 600/Mavic Open 4 CD w/DT straight gauge spokes 32 3 cross front and back...it came in at 18.8 lbs (sans saddle bag and bottles).

FYI - it is a CF comapct frame in size "S". and I have replaced the seat post and bars with heavier versions from stock, and I am riding a Specialized Toupe insted of the Fizik Aliante Sport that came stock...

You weigh them without full bottles, so do you ride without full bottles?

It doesn't matter...that weight on the scale determines how fast I go. You HAVE to weigh it without bottles...next time I'm ditching the front wheel as well....

15.34 lbs on the scale ready to ride as dressed in this pic:

A little less now that I got some much lighter bottle cages and dropped the stem/cut the steerer.
