Flyte products?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Flyte products?

I was wondering if anybody has used any frames produced by Flyte (I understand this was formerly airborne).
If you have any experience with their products, please discuss. In particular though, I am looking for comments about their frames. I am looking at the SRS3

DrPete's Flyte is sweet.

I'm looking to build up one of these frames in the off season. Probably the one with carbon stays.
They have Ti frames on their site too. I'm not sure I like the fact that they are painted Ti.

Since that photo there have been several, um, "important" changes, like an EC70 carbon post, Tacx Tao cages, GP4000 tires, and a Polar S725x HRM. Compact cranks are on the way. Oh, and I flipped it and dropped it for racing purposes...

All I have is a low-res version of the "new" bike... Think of it as an homage to grainy, 70s-style bike porn.

It's a great bike, and I've been happy doing everything on it from short crits to centuries.

DrPete...that bike is really sweet, and it surely makes Flyte look real good since you really have that thing dialed in.

I'm wondering if you'll stay triple? I can't think of any good reason to switch to double.

What are the next upgrades?

Man you make me want to get the credit card out right now and get my Flyte frame shipped tomorrow!!!!!!!!!

I actually just got a deal on some FSA Gossamer Compact cranks. I need some lower gearing for road races, and that drop to the granny gear is too unreliable to trust in a race. So basically I'm giving up a gear or two on the low end for what I hope will be more reliable shifting. They're heavy, but still lighter than the SLK triple, so whatever. I got them for $139.

Next upgrade is the wheels... I want to keep the Eastons because they've been bombproof, but a little something stiffer/lighter would be nice. I'm thinking Ksyrium ES or Rolf Vigor RS if the cash is there this winter...

Also looking into a Power kit for my Polar S725x. Not as precise as SRM or PowerTap, but at $349 I might give it a shot, and there are folks out there who are happy with it.

The rest of the upgrades are to the engine:
1. lots of time in the weight room
2. Drop 10-15lb in the off season
3. Off-season program by TrainingPeaks
4. Upgrade to Cat 4
