new pedals?

these came with my bike but i havent used them yet because i dont have shoes..should i buy mountain shoes and just use these or sell them and buy road bike pedals and shoes?

Why not use the pedals you've already got? Buy a pair of SPD-compatible shoes and enjoy the savings.
