Performance question: Can I return a mail ordered item to a retail store?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Performance question: Can I return a mail ordered item to a retail store?

Anybody ever returned an item they bought online from Performance to a Performance retail store ?

Reason I'm asking is they have 99 cent shipping now and I'd like to try two different sizes of a particular shoe that the local store doesn't carry in stock. Rather than drive all the way to the store to use the red phone and then returning to pick up making multiple trips, can I just order them to my house and then return the one pair that does not fit the best?

The website made it seem like returning via mail was the way to return an item. If I can in fact return to a store, that would be cool.

Thoughts?

We don't have a Performance store where I live, but from what I've read in other people's posts, no.

Yea.. I have a truck rack they sent me by mistake. Didn't charge me for it and I dont know how I ended up with it. I called them to return it and while they sent me a fedex label to return it, I'm not going to drive to Fedex to drop it off. I asked about returning it to the local store and they wouldnt take it.

We always took web orders back in through the store, just make sure you bring in the invoice that comes with the package. Best bet would be to call the store though.

I have always been able to make returns on items I've purchased online through the store, in fact my last experience was yesterday. I do bring my invoice from the box, but in a pinch you can print out the order confirmation from your email that list the items and prices. In either case, no questions asked, courteous service and a prompt refund.

TRUCK rack.. did I say trunk?

Now all I need is a truck to go with it

I just ordered a Thule 917 from Performance, hopefully it doesn't end up at the guy's house that was supposed to get the truck rack.

CyLowe...I have an idea what you're planning and I can tell you that the Manager in our local Performance told MrEWorm that he would let him order up 3 sizes for him to try using the red phone and then return the two that don't fit before even leaving.

Big Red is the manager.
