C-dale Synapse Alloy 4 an antique?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

C-dale Synapse Alloy 4 an antique?

I looked at the C'dale website yesterday and noticed that the bike I just bought (2006 Synapse Alloy 4) is no longer listed on their website. Did I miss it? Or is the model discontinued? If it's no longer made, I got me a one-of-a-kind antique bike! Or else I got a POS that sold so poorly they were forced to discontinue it. lol

LOL Cannondale and Specialzed are both in the midst of SLOWLY redoing their sites for 2007. I believe in 2007 there will be a Synapse Sport or something like that at the lower end of the line...then the Synapse AL, the the CF Synapse and an all new Synapse SL at the top end of the line. The Sport only comes in 5 sizes (Petite, Sm, Med, Lg, XL) where the Synapse AL comes in 7...the sport description also talks about allowing fenders. For a similar size (Med is roughly equivilant to the 53cm Synapse AL) the HT is .5° more slack, the wheelbase is longer, the head tube is 30mm longer. So it is more upright and more stable (less twitchy) than the 2006 Synapse.

Most of what you said went right over my head, but I appreciate the info. nonetheless. Always good to learn new things.

All I know is I am loving my new bike! I've got a 40-mile route all planned out for this weekend.

You will know it's an antique when they start showing up with "~~~=== RARE!! LQQK! ===---" in their Ebay listing titles...
