Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Castelli YFive bibs

I was doing a search for some Castelli bibs and found two shops that sell the Castelli Spa Yfive bibs and shorts. (One ebay, the other an online retailer) I looked for them on the Castelli website to find out how they compare to the YPro and Kiss shorts/bibs, but they weren't listed.

I did a search on this board and others with no luck either.

I'm wondering if it's a legit Castelli line and if there's a reason they're not sold in more places. The seller on Ebay said they were only available in Europe and were better than what's imported by Castelli USA. Just looking for an independent evaluation.

Here's a link:

For any of you that are curious, I got this email from Castelli.

The reason they aren’t on the website is because the dealer (or individual) offering them is not an authorized retailer and those products were never offered for sale in the United States. They may be legitimate CASTELLI product from Italy, but they weren’t ever legitimately imported for resale and possibly they aren’t legitimate at all. We won’t warranty them if there are any problems with them. We have changed management in both the USA and in Italy in the last year and you will see a larger degree of overlap in the lines going forward. Then, you won’t have this problem.
