Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thread with link to Hothead musclecar cagers

There was a thread posted a few days back that I can't find for the life of me.

There was a link to some musclecar forums and a thread on those forums about the hotheads and how proud they were to have swerved at bikes and hit bikers with their exhaust and whatnot..

anybody have that link still?

Yeah, that was hilarious. We should hook'em up with advocacy and safety, helmet head, NC and all those folks.

Seriously, though, I bet most of those people have so many points on their license, they wouldn't dare look the wrong way at a cyclist--despite their language. They love driving too much.

somebody help me find the link.

There's a bastard that I work with who thinks I'm making this crap up that people would actually yell at me and honk in my ear when i'm commuting. I can think of no finer proof than forwarding him that link to those boards.

Deleted

It got deleted. I saw it right after it was posted, then watched a few replies then it was gone.

I have the link if you PM me for it. I figure they don't want it reposted.

I can think of one... put him on your backup bike, put him in hi-vis yellow and take him for a ride. Bet him a beer for each obnoxious thing...

Thanks for the PM. I can see why they deleted the thread. It looks like some BFers signed up and joined in the conversation. Nothing useful can come of that. These guys are just venting. I thought it was actually pretty funny.

We do the same thing. Making jokes about keying peoples cars as they drive by.

The solution isn't to jump on each others forums and fight. We need to let each other vent. Better here then on the road. The only thing that will stop all this nonsense is driver and biker education. That's not going to happen through these threads.

Anyway, good stuff. Like I said, if you read it from the mindset of a cager it's a pretty funny read.

thanks, but i thought this " " would have been enough to communicate my utter disdain for such an inane/asinine/childish/etc name for people who drive cars - an activity i assume the majority of us happen to do.

my point was more about the fact that most of us drive cars, so using a name like 'cagers' is IMO stupid, but your point is taken.
