Silver Anatomic Road Bars and Stem
I am trying to complete a somewhat "modern classic." It is a Simonetti frame (the Masi/Medici guy) that is electric blue with white graphics, DA 9 components, DA hubs laced to Open Pro rims 3x, silver DA easton seatpost, and a terry butterfly ti seat (it is for my girlfriend). I currently have a profile design stem and 3t forma sl gunmetal bars size 40 cm.
She is actually 5'10" and has asked for 44cm bars, the same width as my road bike. I have been looking at the bike for awhile, and I have wanted to build it up with a full silver scheme. Can anyone recommend anatomic bars that come in silver in a 44cm width that are really good bars. I found these Modolos at Nashbar for $20, so the price is right. Anyone have experience with these? Thanks for the assistance, and I will be sure to post pics when the revised build is complete. I intend to use a silver Thompson Elite Stem to complement, maybe something else. It is a 1" steerer. If I can stay away from a stem shim, I would like to. Can anyone recommend a silver clamp on style stem as well? |
Do you want a silver color bar, deda 215, or bright as in chrome or polished bar?
I ride with Simo on occasion here in So. Cal. |
ITM make a really nice aluminum alloy bar called the Pro 260. I have a set on my Specialized steel frame, and they work like a charm. The 260 stands for 260g. They work fine on a quill stem.

I ride with Simo on occasion here in So. Cal. Very cool that you ride with him from time to time. The frame that I have is a late 90's frame, so it is modern, but I am looking to do an all silver scheme with the blue frame. It rides really well and is very stiff and respinsive. I actually had to track him down back in the spring to get a new set of decals for it. He said that he was still building frames. If I have a grand to blow for no good reason, I would definitely get him to make me another frameset (as if I need another bike). Thanks for the reply. |
