Has Specialized's Roubaix carbon changed since '05?
I have a chance at getting a really good deal on a brand new '05 Roubaix Comp, (Dura Ace/Ultegra) and am wondering if they're using different carbon now than they were then. The website says that they're using Fact 6r now and for '06. Anyone know about '05?
Also, the sticker price was $2499 and he immediately came in at $1999, (uhmm, you've had the bike in the shop for a year, you can do better). Any ideas about how low of a price I should press this guy for? Keep in mind that their professional bike fitter just left so they don't have anyone on site to do fitting beyond guestimation. Yes? No?

The various product levels in the Roubaix and Tarmac lines used different carbon weaves.

That level of the bike is now called the Expert and it is a much different frame for 2007. The frame is now a single monocoque design and uses a better grade of CF. That isn't to say that the bike you are looking at isn't a good bike, because it is...but from a price standpoint it is a 2 year old model with an out of production frame. I am sure you will be happy with it...but get a great price on it. He can do better than $1999, I will tell you that for sure.
