Road Cycling from Texas to Alaska

I posted this in the touring forum, but its a 70-day tour done roadie style and I want to get as many eyes on it as I can.

There's still a few spots open for the 2007 Texas 4000 for Cancer summer ride - the only requirements are that you have to be a university student (any university) and commit to fundraising for cancer research. If you or someone you know is eligible I encourage you/they to participate - the application is linked on the T4K homepage. Having been a rider on the 2006 T4K team this past summer I can attest that its a lot of fun and benefits a wonderful cause. :)

The Texas 4000 for Cancer is a group of over 40 university students whose lives have been touched by cancer. Our goal is to raise over $240,000 annually for the American Cancer Society, volunteer in hospital cancer units, and provide information while we cycle 4,500 miles from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska.

The daily focus of our trek is threefold: first, to use our personal experiences to bring hope to cancer patients we meet along the way; second, to educate others we meet about cancer; last, to urge everyone we meet to join us in our fight against cancer. You too can join us in our fight against cancer by following the donations link above to send a donation, by sending encouragement to riders along the way, or by joining us in our education and volunteer activities when we come through your area.

I did the 2006 Rockies route as well, I haven't talked with Peter since he went back to Europe for a visit though. Hopefully he's doing well with IBM by now. :)
