Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Wow, the colors are horrid... the F85 is just... ugly.

I'm hoping to test ride the F75. Can't afford full carbon, but I'm hoping the seat stays on the F75 will be the next best thing.

Compared to the ugly of the 2007:

Yeah, I know. I feel like an idiot for waiting for the new model now. I liked the old color scheme a lot better as well.

whew, I am glad I bought the 2006 F65 (although not included in the 2007 lineup) and not waited. There is a $600 price difference between the 2007 F75 and F55.

Does that big chainring look like a pie plate to anyone else?

It'll be fine once they take the duct tape off.

The new selection is nice, and the paint and decal schemes look good too, not worse than last year's, not better. Good. I suppose prices are the same, though choices seem to have expanded, and, at the same time, choices have decreased. For example, the cheapest flat-topbar bike isn't a sora/tiagra rig. You'll have to go for the comfort geometry in the Z-series.

I suppose that means a lot of entry level riders go for more comfort-oriented rides, but it'd be better to have that choices between compact and classic.

I don't know if the $2600 price tag for the F1 frameset is good or not, seems steep, but I guess it's the team frame. About $1100 for Felt's new carbon seatstay frameset is not great, especially when you can get a bmc with a carbon rear triangle (road racer sl01, I believe) for that price.

Touching on the F1 framest again, the complete is $5700, so I guess the $2600 for the frameset is decent.

Overall, I think the moves are OK, have to see how that compact, comfort frame rides.

I wouldn't read too much into the coloring or "blackness" of the paint job if that is what some of you are concerned about. The '06 models are shot in a darker setting than the '07 models which are shot in high key lighting. Lighting can have a strong effect on the appearance of the products.

Personally... I have had an '07 S22 on order for a few weeks and have been checking almost daiy for the Felt US site to update. That shows I am one step closer to getting my bike. Of course it's all hinged on InterBike this week but I am hopeful that my order was in early to get an early shipment of the new model.

I find that I absolutely love the look of a subtly curvy, slender top tube..

I've fallen in similar love with the Bianchi 1885.

I like! I am a big fan of Felt and their frame geometry. My 2005 F2C has treated me well, but I may be ready to upgrade to the F1 in 2007. (Gotta start saving my $)

What's up with the Z series? I asked the owner or my LBS and he just shook his head. Then he told me they won't be carriing any of the Z series.

Their flowing graphics don't flow with the bike IMO. Now Scott bike's are just plain secksey.

They need to offer a couple different colors with each different bike though. I want some different colors.

No. Frankly the difference between the two isn't worth noting.

I was just looking at the specs.

The F1 is listed at 14.9 pounds with Mavic Cosmic Carbone Clinchers, which are a heavy 1765g wheelset.
If I were to swap out the wheels with my carbon tubulars I'd get the bike down to around 14 pounds even. (14.5 with my pedals)

I'm scheduled to pick up my 2007 F75 in one week. At first I was a little disappointed by the new look compared with the '06 model. But I'm kind of digging the new model now. Considering that I've already paid for the bike, this is probably just a coping mechanism!

By the way, does anyone know where I can find reviews of the '07 models? I can't seem to find any.
