Brooks Plunge

After riding a Selle Italia Flite Ti Gel for the past five months, I realize that this this saddle is not made for me, nor me for it. It's okay for an hour or so, but then it becomes very uncomfortable - especially when not riding in the drops. I know that some of it is my behind adjusting to the bike again, but it became apparent this weekend that it's just not to be. After a fifty-mile ride on Sat. I went for a short ride Sun. afternoon. My behind wasn't sore from the get-go as has usually been the case the day after a fairly long ride (for me), but I just couldn't get comfortable.

After performing some research and talking with Bill at Wallingford, I decided to try a Brooks. I ordered a Swift today in plain old black. With his exchange/return policy, I am sure I WILL find a comfortable saddle without having to resort to a gel cover. I'll report results (hopefully break-in won't take too long).......

Any advice/insight on set-up welcomed....

Did you see this thread?
New Brooks Saddle

There really isn't a lot to know, but what there is, is important.

Also do a search, there have been several discussions in the past.

Enjoy!

Long live Brooks- the best saddles ever made! I hear Brooks was recently purchased by Selle, I hope that isn't a bad sign :-/

Now I'm off to read that link posted by Roadbuzz

I don't think Brooks' purchase by Selle is
a bad thing, so far they have boosted sales distribution
(Nashbar now has limited offerings).
I'd still buy from Wallingford given their return policy.
Toothpick, there are a bunch of threads about breaking
in a brooks saddle, all with good information.
Nice choice saddle too!
let us know how it works out for you.

Thanks much for the replies. I know the setup for one will not necessarily work for another individual; however, I read that the "typical" setup that works best on the Selle Italia Flights is level (purely opinion). I plan on setting the Brooks up level to start with as well. This sound like a good plan? Thanks.

level or just a tip of nose up.
