New (to me) Lemond Sarthe, Pics!
So after much dilemma and debate I found a great deal that i just couldn't pass up. She arrived last Friday and I put ~75 miles on her over the weekend and set my top speed as well (52mph )! I can't believe the difference b/w a 1978 Nishiki, and a 2006 Lemond Sarthe. Frame size is a 55 and I'm 5'10". The original owner put on the ultegra cranks and I added the Toupe and the crummy bottle holders. I still haven't decided which ones to get so these will do for now. I got a lot of great feedback from this forum and i just wanted to say thanks for you help! Comments feedback appreciated, especially on those bottle caddies.

While you appear to have conformed to the OCP white garage photo nicely, you're wheels are still in a terrible position. I believe that the valves should be in the BDC (bottom dead center) position.
otherwise, its a fantastic looking bike! I made the jump from a 90's Miyata to an Orbea and I was astonished by the difference.

Can't go wrong with a Sarthe. It's just an all around good bike. You'll enjoy that for many, many years to come.

haha, yeah... This was a massively steep hill that just didn't let up, at one point I was crawling up it at about 4mph... It was about 6 miles up and it was my second ride of the day following a nasty 35 miler in the morning...
I've never been so utterly brutalized and then confronted with pure glory only moments later as I reached the crest.
thanks again to everyone for the kind words!

The 06 Sarthe´ is a really nice bike. I ordered one last fall, it arrived in time to put it under the Christmas Tree. Up graded the Cranks to an Ultegra triple, wheelset to Race Lites, saddle to a Brooks Team Pro, Tires to Conti GP 4-Seasons. I keep it in the living room (with my wife´s concent) and even when I´m not riding it, I just love to look at it.

Thanks again guys, I love this thing, and if the wife would let me I'd keep it in the living room as well... unfortunately it stays in the upstairs stairwell landing.
I fell in love with the sarthe when i first saw the '05 Orange one... ever since then i'd resigned myself to the '07 but then this popped up and I grabbed it.
I'm taking it up to Mammoth with me this weekend, the friends say there are some fantastic rides up there. I'll snap some pics and maybe post a few.
Hey, Bccycleguy: What's the advantage of the Race Lites? just lighter? more durable? what am I looking at as far as cost?

I have race lites on my Lemond as well. These wheels are darn near bulletproof.
