Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Comfy, compact, forgiving saddle for under $75??

I'm looking for a saddle, any manufacturer, really. I want comfort (so I can stop rearranging myself all the time and focus more on the ride, a saddle that's not bulky (no touring saddles, please), and one that's forgiving where it matters most. I don't know if I should go with gel, but if that's what I need, please point in me the right direction! I'm trying to stay under $75 (for the saddle itself), because I have to spend some dough on a new post as well. If you recommend something more expensive, I think I can squeeze $100 out of the pocket. But ideally, below $75.

Right now I'm riding an SDG Bel Air FX with I-Beam post. Came with the bike. Some might like it, but it tends to "push" me forward and I can't manage to find a good feel with it. I'd go for another SDG, but nothing they make is more forgiving, only less. Thanks for the help!

The Fly can definitely be found on sale for under $75.

That being said, don't make saving money a goal on your saddle. Lots of other places where you can save money that won't make you miserable. Spend as much as the right saddle costs.
