Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Snapped this image on my morning ride today. This is definitely why I like riding on the south side of Chitown

Of course, this other picture might be a good reason not to park here. Hmmm.

The 2nd pic isn't priceless to me. In fact, it's going to cost me $75 (well, unless I can fight it). Grrrr....

That's awesome!

I never rode the shoreline south - I always went north to Sheridan and back.

Hmm, I'll have to add that to the list of rides to do.

Thanks!

How far south is that? Looks like it may be near Jackson Park?

No, this is a classic example of someone at Streets and Sanitation posting "No Parking" signs for street cleaning sometime between midnight last night and this morning. Hence, all of those ticketed cars include my car and all of my next door neighbors. Utter BS.

Boy, oh boy, I sure as heck don't miss those temporary orange "Street Cleaning - No Parking 9-6 on Wednesday" signs they used to hang on trees or whatever.

Parking tickets have to make up the majority of the city's income. Just have to....
