Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

RIDLEY is on TV. :)

You guys need to get a little more information before you jump to conclusions just because a brand of bike pay milllions to a pro tour team to ride them. The carbon Ridleys were so bad last year that the whole Lotto team apart from McEwen were on the cheaper Alloy bikes. This year he's had to have a special bike made for him with more carbon layers to get the stiffness he needs for sprinting.

Go search the Weight Weenies forums, there's a bunch of serious Belgian racers, pros and neo pros who know all about Ridley and the problems the Lotto team have had with them.

Well actually Cyfac are a brand which pros use when they are unhappy with their current bike sponsor. This is why Fignon rode one with Raliegh stickers and why the whole Cofidis team rode them a few years ago with MBK stickers. This season at least one pro tour rider is riding a Cyfac under other stickers.

If pros refuse to ride a brand, and then pick a Cyfac with sponsor stickers on it, you can assume it's a long was from being an 'unremarkable' frame.

What would you know anyway, mr Soloist team? You'd probably find a Ridley stiff in comparison

Why do you post here? to make yourself feel superior? its clearly not working.

Name one Cyfac rebadged frame this year. Just one.

Fignon? how many decades back did you have to go to find that one example? zee Cyfacs are fine, but they are no big deal. French Trek Madones. OK for arrogant poseurs such as yourself.
Aside from your usual bullsh+t, here are the race history facts of the crappy Team Soloist since 2003:

- Liège-Bastogne-Liège,
- Paris-Nice (twice),
- Critérium International (twice),
- Tour de l'Avénir,
- Tour Méditerranéen (twice),
- Tour de Qatar,
- Bayern Rundfahrt.

Not bad for a $1200 frame.

I will agree that Weighweenies members are far more knowledgable, with a lot less flag waving and lugheads than BF, but there are also a lot of serious "handlebar tape weight" threads, and threads on $3000 ultralight bike handmade parts snapping to pieces.

he's right on that one. You could learn actually learn facts at Weightweenies, not the myths generated here.

LOL so he is using a bike because the pros are????
Riders have always used dfferent frames that are rebadged. It suits them better, they like the feel etc.......

ever answer the question about owning a bike?

Botto is a good example of a bad BF member, quick responses, always wrong (always), really stupid advice and never admits it.

Until I know otherwise, he's just some teenage troll who doesn't even ride a bike.

Here's a good example:

this thread:

http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=234048

his response:

botto:

the overly macho attitude (just read BF.net ) doesn't help much either.

Such a sensitive, caring man...oh wait, in response to the thread about the stellar career of Jeannie Longo:

botto:

ughhh... old hatchet face. maybe it's just me, but i've never read a piece where she was spoken of in a awrm and friendly way by her fellow cyclists. the best she can get is 'respectful'. leads me to think that she's a beeyatch.

Actually, my last two PMs have the links to the Basso DNA story, maybe you could learn something.
I only sent you one message calling you a stupid f*ck.

I still notice you will not answer the two questions: where are you from, and do you own a bike?

a BF member without a bike? That's the definition of Fred.

What's with the smileys? do you always finish a sentence like that in real life?

A Ph.D is has the title of Doctor, or in my case, Professor.
There are many Doctors who are not medical doctors, or clinicians, there are many Doctors with more education and speciality than medical Doctors.
One day, if you go to a college or university, you'll figure it out.

Once again, wrong.

Damn from commercial to Ridley is sh*t to my bike is better than yours to I'm better than you lol. This thread has really gone to the worse haha. too funny.

I'd suggest to the people bashing each other to take to it to PM because it has nothing to do with the thread.

and coming back to the original subject of the thread, anyone seen the ridley commercial? if someone could record it and put it on youtube or googlevideo that would be great.

thanks
