Selle Italia saddles....thoughts?
Looking to upgrade the saddle, the stock one just isn't doing the trick. It's a bit of a commute for me to drive out to the nearest LBS that carries a good supply of Selle Italia saddles, and was just wondering before I make the trek if those who use them have been pleased....opinions would be much appreciated! If you could include which model you chose that would be great...thank you!

I like them, but I prefer flat saddles. I have the GelFlow SLR (cutout) and the Flite. I prefer the Flite by a small amount.

I have been using the Selle italia Flite saddles (various versions) since they first came out in the early 1990s and have been happy with them. Their profile fits my butt fine and they're the most comfortable saddle I've found for me. Other people I know hate them but then again I hated the saddles they're touting. Everyone's butt is different.

I ride an SLR that was shown in catalogs as 140 grams, but 135 grams is stenciled on the saddle... but, now, it's even less because the cover has come off and I've stripped most of the gel-like padding off except in the sit-bone area (only because it was more stubborn.) Basically, it's plastic on Ti rails.
I've ridden a century on it with little problem. But, that's just me.

I have a SLR XC cutout with those pretty sequin designs on it. It feels pretty good considering how it looks. Construction and quality get high ranks and aesthetically, it's slick shape compliments any bike.
