Anyone tried Flyte's CF ride?
I don't have one, nor the funds to procure one, but it intrigues me. With all the traffic on this forum surrounding the SRS-3, I was just curious as to whether or not anyone had tried their "top of the line" offering. Anyone?

I have not had the chance to ride one yet, but i can say that the bike is extremely sexy. The bike looks good and is very light. One of my buddies that I ride with has one but of course he loves his, he owns Flyte. I plan on buying the SRS1 frame this winter and building it up.

Back in September, I needed a new road race bike, and I thought about getting a solid, fast SRS-3 or SRS-2. Then I caught an EBay deal from Flyte on their SRS-1, plus some additional goodies Jamie was clearing out at the time -- including a couple pair of socks...
Built up the 53cm frame with D-A 9spd spare parts, Ritchey bars, USE Alien post, SLK saddle. I built some wheels with some old (out of print) OPros (blue) and some gold DT MMC spokes. Very light -- around 16 lbs, methinks.
Had never riddeen a CF bike -- had ridden all the other frame materials (except scandium, though). Geometry is very tight, very much a crit burner. I'm a good 1-1.5cm farther forward in the saddle than my previous road bike.
Pretty smooth. Repsonsive like the old Klein I used to race. Smooth like the Ti bike I used to ride. Not as springy as the 531 steel bike I raced back in the 80s. I guess some think of CF feeling kinda "dead." My butt, hands, neck, back, and feet say "velvet." The tight geo makes for very quick handling. Probably not a good choice for someone who needs more time on the rollers.
No other way to say it -- this bike LEAPS! It really flies when you hammer it. It's amazing to me that what amounts to a piece of plastic weighing a mere 2.5 lbs can take a beating from my 180 lbs and feel like it's not at all bothered. Very solid BB. Rear triangle looks to be overbuilt. The Downtube, while rather unconventional-looking, probably contributes to the responsiveness and strength of the frame -- it's midsection bulges underneath the cage, increasing the tube diameter along the axis of the bike, and it has an almost "trapezoidal" cross-section. Kinda strange. Kinda different. Brutally effective. I like it.
Anyway, I've got a few month's worth of riding on the frame and it ROCKS!
If I can find the disk with the pix, I'll post for y'all.
