Cannondale frameset pricing?

I've been looking to swap out my frameset for a Cannondale. I'm curious to know what the pricing for Caad8, Caad9, Six13, and System Six frames (preferrably framesets) are. Ballpark figures or msrps are what I'm looking for. 2007 models only. Thanks.

Go to your Cannondale dealer or look on Ebay. I don't think too many people here will know, especially on the CAAD9.

Cannondale framesets are priced disporportionately high compared to the cost of a complete bike.
i.e. the cost of a frameset is usually only a couple hundred less than the cost of the lowest-end bike that uses that same frame.

Paid $1,350 for a 2006 Six13 frame last week. Rides like an F-16 on afterburner.

Also, how does the sizing go for Cannondale bikes? If you typically ride a 54, would you then ride a 56 cannondale? or is it vice versa?

You shouldn't have to guess. Get the measurements off of your old bike and compare them to those found at cannondale.com. The geometry might not work for you.

like he said...

also, as was intimated, Cannondale's frames are not inexpensive as compared to a whole bike. They are in the bike business, not the frame selling business.

if you are doing an upgrade with Cannondale's frame upgrade program, that will be different. In other words, you already own a Cannondale and want to go to a nicer frame. It's a good way to get and keep customers.

Not with my engine. Rides like an F-16 running on diesel perhaps.

I looked into the crash replacement progam last year. They said a new 2006 CAAD8 at factory price was $1100. So retail would be somewhere like $1400. But you could get an entry level bike with the same frame at REI for $1250. I ended up buying off ebay.

All questions better asked of your Cannondale dealer. You may be able to find some answers on Cannondale.com, or on some Cannondale dealer's website. E.g. www.chainwheel.com.

As others have said, you'll not get a price break buying a frameset. Better you should find someone who needs the parts and split a complete bike.

I bought a Cannondale frameset many years ago. At that time, they had year-end clearances of some sort, and I got a killer deal on the bike.

Not sure if they still do that or not.

a few dealers have quoted me $1500-1600 on a 2007 caad 9 frame with carbon slice fork and headset.

seems overpriced, to say the least.
