Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

2006 Chorus 8 pc. gruppo question...

Guys,
Am thinking about building a new bike this winter. Is $1100 a good price for a new 2006 8 pc. Compact Chorus CF gruppo?
Thanks for any advice or alternative Campy gruppo I should consider in terms of bang for buck.
George

Here's the same for $800 if you don't need a carbon crankset. Centaur, however, is only $485.

That is a terrible price. You can get the 2007 group for that price.

Thanks Michael. Am leaning toward a CF frame so want a CF gruppo. Other thing is...the two gruppos you reference are both regular double cranksets. I am looking for a compact with compact front 32mm clamp derailleur.
Thanks,
George
