Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Performance price matching

Anyone have any trouble getting them to match prices with Excel/Colo Cyclist? I could really come out ahead if they will do that.

The Performance store that I have been to honors printouts from websites that carry the same item, for price matching. They then verify through the website.

FYI, you can't price match and use a coupon at the same time if you plan on doing that.

does anyone else feel like a cheap-ass when you price match? I usually just buy from the cheaper place, and forego the price matching because of that reason

No, I was going to buy a grouppo at Excel bcuz it was cheaper. If Excel matches the price I can then use my Team Perf points to buy a carbon seatpost.

There shouldn't be a problem. I'd call in your order just in case. I found out about the price matching/coupon the hard way, and it took them a couple of days to e-mail me and tell me about the problem. If, for some reason, they decide not to match it, then at least you'll know right away.

If you can get Performance to match someone else's price, you're also going to get 10% back in points if you're a Team Member.

I guess I should ask where is a cheap place to buy grouppos so I can find the best price to match.

Right now I have been amazed at the prices at totalcycling.com

Probikekit will probably be better once they start getting some more groups in.
