Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

2000 Trek 5200, formerly with Ultegra 9, now Campy Centaur 10.

Some more info:
Just rebuilt with some 2004 Campy and a new UT Centaur crank. Only thing not Centaur is the calipers (Chorus) and arguably the UT cups (labeled as Record but they're universal).

I know the tires are a clown-bike-ish, but they came with the wheels and the group, and I might as well wear 'em out before I get something more appropriate on there.

Apologies for the less than stellar photo, iPhone's camera is hit and miss at 2 megapixels.

Here's my stock '05 1500. Not CF, but to me it rides just as sweet. I'll have to get another shot with the cranks properly positioned. I see from one of the earlier posts that this color scheme was used on some of the '05 Madones.

I can't complain one bit! The good thing about 7900 is that it functions as you would expect DA to work but the front shifting is even better!

Too bad i'm snowbound, riding this thing on a trainer is a waste.

fosmith I ordered it less than a week ago and went with a black instead of white stem. I was told current delivery times are running arround 23 days for this paint scheme.

New Madone 6 series SSL

My '06 Madone showed some signs of bottom bracket failure, so I had our own BikeWise1 take a look. He pulled the BB to check, quick email to Trek, and 2 weeks later I'm on a new 6 series SSL. Huge THANKS to BikeWise1 for making it happen, our Trek rep, and Trek for stepping up to the plate and giving me the opportunity to ride this AWESOME machine! Dropped about 14 oz off my '06, ride is almost plush compared to the '06, and power delivery seems to be instant! Paint appears to be a tinted clear with silver and platinum graphics. There was a modest upcharge that seemed very fair, and turn around was amazing! I know Trek is an easy target on the forums, but from engineering and development, US manufacturing, and great warranty service, Trek has always been outstanding! Thanks again BW1!
