Quill Stem -- options?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Quill Stem -- options?

I am needing to replace a cracked 90mm quill stem from my old Trek. What options are out there -- such as:

1. Are there any quill stems with faceplates -- easier to remove handlebar, etc.?
2. Are there any quill stems that fit 31.8 handlebars?

Any suggestions where to purchase besides eBay? I'd love to find something like an 3T or Cinelli.

Thanks!

There are options, I have an ITM stem with 26.0 and a faceplate so I don't ahve to rewrap my bars all the time. Try Nashbar and Performance, last time I checked they had all of your requirements.

There are a lot of quill stems with faceplates. You can also get an adaptor that allows you to use a threadless stem.

Deda Murex, ITM Mutant (?), 3TTT motus are just 3 examples of open faceplate stems.
The murex is still in production, not sure about the mutant and motus (but both are easily
found on ebay).
