Eurobike organizers planning '07 bike show in Portland, OR !

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

They plan to go head to head with Interbike...... I didn't know there was discontent with Interbike, but heck, competition is great for consumers AND it's in my awesome city!

That is awesome. Portland has not had a descent bike show in about a decade.

This year's Eurobike show drew 31,810 trade visitors from around the world, 19,684 cycling fans on Open House Day, and 1064 journalists from 32 countries, according to the show's website.
Would be great to have a bike show in the U.S. with an Open House day.

Update: The North American Handbuilt Bicycle Show will not locate in Portland next year due to Eurobike's announcement.
