K-WING installed!

Folks,
If any of you are thinking about getting a FSA K-Wing...GO GET ONE!

I just finished installing my bar and I took a quick ride around the neighborhood and it is wonderful. The tops, hoods, and drops are very nice!!! Very comfortable bar and it looks great as well! Yes...it is somewhat pricey, but I got mine for $100 on craigslist (lucky me).

Now...I need a FSA Control Center for the computer

One you get the brifters setup to your liking it can make for a very comfortable bar for long rides. Rule of thumb - NEVER TAPE THE TOPS.

Alternate rule of thumb: DOUBLE TAPE the tops.

I got the K-Force carbon bar. Its 30g lighter than the Wing. :)

Even though it doenst have the flat section, its still a very comfortable bar. No buzzy hands anymore.

Yep - I'm loving mine! The flat-top bars are great for comfort! Just put on a alloy flat-top bar on my backup bike.

But the flat part is half the idea....

K-Wings only work if you like the drops parallel to the ground. If you angle the bar the change to the angle of the wings makes them uncomfortable. Also, there sizing is large compared to most other bar manufacturers, if you are used to a standard 420mm width you will find that the FSA are about 15mm wider.

How to you mount a cycle computer with a "winged" handlebar?

Steve

Or, a Stem mount which is what I use.

But, I too now have the extension mount for my headlight.

I LOVE the ITM mount!! That's great looking.

Edited to add: WOW!!! That ITM mount is a minimum of $42 online and appears to retail for $60. Good looks = pricey!

Where did you get that stem mount?

It came with my Polar CS200 cyclocomputer. It is both a stem and handlebar mount -- I have 3 of them for 3 of my bikes and they all work really well. I doubt I'll ever use a handlebar mount again. I like it much better.

EdZ 11-01-06 10:17 PM

Yay for stem mounts and yay for wing bars :)
