Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I love Performance...they rock. I have seen dozens of cases like this over the last couple of years...my favorite was always when the Team Performance price was higher than the standard price. Ohh the benefits of membership.

I can't wait until my first PBK order gets here...

My personal favorite there is when "bundled" items are more expensive than buying the same number of the individual item. This seems to be true at least half the time I look at bundled items on their site.

+1 - Not only annoying, but a pathetically obvious display of modern pricing methodologies that pay no attention to value, but only price by part number by customer type and demographic and volume.

I've tried the Attack tires. The rear tire wore out in about 500 miles. The front is still going strong but so what? The price there is for a PAIR of tires. Nevertheless they ride pretty well but are too rich for my blood.

I've noticed that too. I bet they get a lot of people with that trick, though.

Funny, until you realise somebody is actually trying to sell us bicycle tires at $129!

I wouldn't call what they do "trying". Well, perhaps their customers' patience.

What were you doing / how much do you weigh?

As I have now had a couple of sets and the first rear lasted ~3500 - 4000km! I weigh 78kg and ride over most surfaces...

I was surprised how long they did last! I do wish they would sell them individually as I'm still on my first front and now second rear.

Also US$129 is crazy! I bought my last set for ~AU$85 through PBK (I had other bits on order so the fixed freight price not included in the $85.
