Anyone now where i can get a toupe for a decent price?

Notices
Road Cycling It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle. -- Ernest Hemingway

eBay - or you local LBS and know the GM. What do you consider a good price? My LBS has been charging me $110 for them.

$110 seems fair, cheaper than most recent ebay price. LBS is out of the question for me, I'm in Canada and we generally get ***** on these types of things. I don't think i'd find one for less than $180 CAD.

$110 is insane for that saddle. It's just plastic. I sold mine on eBay, and many others will as well. Just wait.
I was suckered by Specialized marketing machine.

Consider a Selle Italia SLR, or Selle San Marco Aspide (~$80), or an SKN (~$40).

Damnit, Botto. I was going to do a joke along those lines.

OP, I just sucked it up and paid the $150 for mine. It's a worthy investment.

At least I'll admit I paid the idiot tax on this saddle. But some ebidiot paid more than I bought it for.

The cover does not wear well, and there are many similar designed saddles for less money, of much better quality.

When people refer to $150 saddles that cost $12 to make as "reasonable" , this sport is officially in the hands of yuppies.

That does it. I am getting in my Saab and going to get a chai latte. I need to listen to some Mozart on my Klipsch stereo system. I am very stressed out now.

It is worth $100+ to me to have a comfortable saddle that allows maximum blood flow through the perineal region.

The SLR was much too narrow for me. The 143 Specialized fits me like a glove and you can't put a price on that part of the body, although I use the Alias not the Toupe.

Also seems that on eBay the 143 is the most popular size. I seem to always find 130's for lots less than the 143 goes for, at least IMO it seems this way.

Edited to fix the speaker choice. Klipsch is the suck! No trying yuppy would own a Klipsch system, they sell it at best buy.

I've also found that it's sometimes best to bite the "BIN" bullet if you find one available that way. I see lots of items with BIN that end up going for more than the BIN once bidding begins. Good luck!

Here are some that I found, the BIN ones seem to be about "retail" price here though. https://search.ebay.com/search/search...upe&category0=

you people on ebay should really use a bid sniper program, they are awesome, especially if the bidding ends at early morning, say 3:00am
the program basically just bid on the item you want whenever (say 5 secs before bid ends), and you'll get the item (unless someone is willing to pay more), doing it this way keeps the price low and saves $$$$, you don't even have to be at the computer when the bid is ending

Really, I think you're just going to have to be patient on eBay or just save up a few more coins to widen your budget a bit. I got one a 2007 model on eBay a couple of weeks ago for $130 along with matching bar tape. Haven't been able to take it out on the road yet, but first impressions sitting on it in the garage are favorable. It's a solid 1/4 lb lighter than the Alias that came on my Tarmac. The thing's so light you could probably chuck it at my head and not leave a mark.
