With 28 and 32 spokes? That's crazy.

"Strong enough to ride every day" ???? I guess if you're Kate Moss.

jeffreyahorn 11-30-06 03:37 PM

Perchance that recommendation is unrelated to the strength of the wheel; they are simply making a recommendation based on years of observation that if you are to be competitive you must weigh < 155lbs. Damn, I was 156 this morning.

What would you like to know. These wheels are "No fatties".

ravenmore 11-30-06 03:39 PM

heh - hopefully a typo. Then again that's about what I'd expect from some wheels named "Arriva".

DXchulo 11-30-06 03:40 PM

I just got a pair of these last week. There's no weight limit listed, but it kind of makes me wonder. I'm only 142 though, so I won't sweat it. Besides, they are almost exactly like the WH-R540s they are replacing, and I didn't have any troubles with those.

howsteepisit 11-30-06 03:42 PM

JUst lose weight LOL! I would think its a typo, but it also could be a "lawyero" - protect yourself from liablity at all cost!

cydewaze 11-30-06 03:46 PM

lol, the zoom view is the same size as the thumbnail.

I want a pair for my cross bike.

garysol1 11-30-06 03:46 PM

well at least they are a real deal....4% is nothing to sneeze at

slowandsteady 11-30-06 03:59 PM

Yeah, I saw those a couple of weeks ago. Weight limit of 155 really does narrow the possible customer pool.

patentcad 11-30-06 04:11 PM

It's that whopping 4% discount that has me all atwitter.

Quick, get me the Amex card honey, and hold my calls.

jhowell 11-30-06 04:20 PM

They give you that stealth look for PAYBACK DAY!!

Talewinds 11-30-06 04:20 PM

"with the ultra light weight" WTF? 1610g is sooooooo not ultra light weight. Hell, that's practically false advertising.

stevecaz 11-30-06 04:25 PM

Instead of posting this, you should have contacted techincal support to confirm first, and then given the whole story.

Cyclaholic 11-30-06 04:28 PM

OMG!! I'm surrounded by sub-160lb midgets in this forum! do you all eat like you're in a 3rd world country, or something? :o

RatherBeBiking 11-30-06 04:29 PM

That wouldn't have been much fun. And tech support takes FOREVER.

dtrain 11-30-06 04:29 PM

Well, I'm out.

It may have enough spokes, but it probably fails to mention that the spokes are really just shoelaces/fishing wire.

That and the rim is made out of recycled milk jugs.

grahny 11-30-06 07:02 PM

spoke material =

Pfft...don't tell that to Mavic...they think the Ksyrium SL and ES are ultra light weight and they aren't much different in weight than those.

'nother 11-30-06 10:18 PM

LOL. Ad copy courtesy of The Knave (Hipcycler weighs 156 lbs) :D
