Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Mavic 192 rims 700C 32h

Anyone have experience with Mavic 192 rims (700C, unknown width, 32h)? You'd think it would be easier to find info on them but I haven't found much. I am thinking of using these for commuting and just riding around town. Can they comfortably take 28mm tires? How about 32mm tires?

Thanks,
John

I use a pair of 192 rims comfortably with 28mm Maxis Colomibiere tyres - Im not sure that 32 would be a great idea as the ratio might be pushing it a little.

They have been a good strong rim for me - even the 32h rear has only needed a slight tweak in 2 years of good touring use.

Hi, are you sure? I was reading that the myth of wide tires for narrow rims has been debunked. Am I understanding correctly? Also curious about running 32s on these rims. Thanks

Had to tease a little, but we've all done it. Anyways, to answer the question, lots of people have run 32mm tires (or more) on rims that narrow. You'll be fine.
