Sleeveless Jersies-yay or nay?

I know it's awfully cold for most of us, me included. I just noticed that they are on sale bigtime at performance and thought about getting a couple. Any of you guys ride in them in the summer?

AGGRO 12-07-06 01:55 PM

botto 12-07-06 01:57 PM

I wear them from May-October. Now is a great time to stock-up .

blue_nose 12-07-06 02:01 PM

I like to keep the sun from beating down on my shoulders, plus it just does not look good.

johnny99 12-07-06 02:03 PM

I think sleeveless is noticeably cooler on really hot days, but you do need lots of sunscreen to avoid burning.

drdhsimon 12-07-06 02:03 PM

i wear 'em....with sunscreen, which you should wear anyway:)

merlinextraligh 12-07-06 02:08 PM

I value the skin on my shoulders.

badkarma 12-07-06 02:08 PM

Do you wear lycra shorts? I rest my case.

It's funny that some of the really "bad ass looking" pro riders in the European peloton wore sleeveless jerseys or tucked their sleeves in during Le TdF.

curiouskid55 12-07-06 02:26 PM

There must be a reason they are against the rules? Besides they are not very attractive on most skkiny armed road racers. Tri's are all swimmers so they are more well equipped for the sleavless look.

I used them a bit this summer on commute and was really surprised at how badly at times they must have been cutting into my pits. I kept finding these stone bruise looking lines under my arms from time to time before I finally figured out what they were coming from.

superdex 12-07-06 02:40 PM

just not my bag, baby

nocondorfx 12-07-06 02:49 PM

skip

Bob Ross 12-07-06 02:50 PM

When it's hot, you bet I wear 'em.

I did have one jersey that yielded those bruises that Rule mentioned, but that was the only problem. I've got 2 or 3 Performance sleeveless jerseys that were only $19 in July, they must be giving them away free in specially marked boxes of Count Chocula now.

stea1thviper 12-07-06 02:53 PM

sleeveless jersies are great when it's hot. ive never had sunburn problems or any other problems mentioned with them. what kind of sleeveless jersies are you guys wearing???

munkyv22 12-07-06 03:03 PM

I am too white. I burn WAY too easily.

I am not saying they look silly or anything.
