Tights slipping...

I have a pair of the Nashbar Windrider tights. Functionally they are excellent, but they have an annoying tendency to slip down in back. I would assume it is the lycra tight material sliding on the lycra fabric of my bibs. I'm constantly reaching back to hike them up.

Anyone else have this problem? Other than purchasing bib tights, are there any solutions, or does anyone own a pair that doesnt slide down or is cut taller in the back?

Just finished up 30 miles. Temp was 27 when I started out but there was not a hint of wind. Beautiful and sunny morning here in GA.

I have a pair of these Tights from REI. They are slightly higher in the back, and I've never noticed them to slip. Right now the price is right also. I may have to go, and buy another pair today.

Do those have the wind blocking panels on them and a drawstring waist? The web page did not indicate either.

I also have some tights that tend to slide down in back. Since they're non padded, I just put on cycling shorts over them. Solves the problem for me. I don't own any bibs so I don't know if tights under bibs will work.

Once you go bibs, you won't go back; at least for tights.

No drawstring, and they are thermal tights so they block the wind excellent.

Always wear my bib shorts under the tights, and they still don't slide.

So your padded shorts are over your tights? Where is the Underwear Nazi?

I too have some wind tights (non-bib) that tend to slide down in the back so I generally wear bib shorts underneath and constantly have to pull up the tights. The full front wind panels are the only reason I still wear them- almost all my other tights and shorts are bib and are less of a hassle. The best is bright blue shorts under non-bib tights and the subsequent smurf-moon. I think are only two real solutions: pull them up regularly or replace with bib tights.

My buddy does that. A simple and cheap fix

When I saw the thread title, the first thing I thought of was suspenders. :D

C'mon guys ... bibs over tights!

How often do I have to remind you?

:p

I'm 6'5" and had the same problem.
Jerseys too short, tights sliding down.

No more.

Bibs over tights.

When I wear my bibs over my tights, my ass-sweat starts bothering me.

mrbubbles 12-09-06 03:06 PM

or you can just wear bib tights.... that works, i got three pairs of nike thermal fleeced bib tights without chamois for like $20 each, really cheap

bdcheung 12-09-06 03:12 PM

I like the chamois. See my last post.

Buy the next size down. I have one pair of tights that are too big, and are always slipping down. The other pair is a size smaller. No slippage.

Much simpler than bibs or suspenders.

And just by the way, where I come from, suspenders are used to hold up stockings. They are usually pink and lacy. Don't think they would look good with cycling shorts.
