Recommend some Knee Warmers
I just bought a pair of bellwether knee warmers from nashbar, and the seam on them is ridiculous- vertical and directly on the back of the knee. They left an indention on my skin after wearing them for a half hour. What less expensive knee warmers don't have seams, or have flatlock seams? Has anyone tried the loius garneau, canari tundra or adidas?

The Garneaus are great - though I use my leg warmers for much longer than I use the knee warmers. In colder weather, I find that I prefer my Hincapies. In RI I'd probably go with leg warmers - I'm not going to replace my knee warmers when they wear out or get lost.
If I need to cool off my lower legs I just open the leg zippers - and that is probably the best argument for getting the lege warmers with zippers. Don't know about anything tundras, the Adidas seem to run large, but otherwise seem fine.

All excellent and v. comfy. They will leave a mark on your leg though.....you want them nice and tight enough not to bunch or slip down.

Pearl Izumi--Usually more available than more obscure brands, and super comfy. Can't go wrong with PI.

Sorry for hijacking, but every knee warmer I've tried has left indentations on my skin. It doesn't irritate me so much as it may you, but I find that if the seams on something like leg/knee/arm warmers bother you, I just rotate them around so that the seams are somewhere less sensitive, such as the side of the leg, etc.

I have Bellweathers and those seams are very strange. I worn mine for up to 12 hours with no ill effect but have always wondered what the purpose of the seams are.

Try 100% pure merino wool knee warmers from Ibex. They've got free shipping right now. Very nice!

i like the defeet also. the back is thinner and meshlike. hadn't seen the wool ones before, the regular ones are pretty warm. they're cheap and last a long time.

Hincapie...hands down and I've worn many different brands to try them out...
Hincapie shapes the knee warmer...it's in two sections and shaped around the knee in the natural way your leg is shaped and moves when riding. Best part is that they don't bunch up behind the knee.
Best ones ever.

I went through this last winter on another forum. Finally settled for the 'DeFeet' knee warmers. Right off the bat they were great eventhough I'm a big guy, but with slender legs. They are seamless, and like the other poster said, they have a different mesh in the back than the front, which makes them fit very nicely. They are very warm, and dont slip down from my upper thighs when wearing cycling shorts with the leg grippers over them. Very good quality too. I also have their arm warmers.
I love mine.

Deja Vu - but my thread was on Leg warmers.
For knee warmers, I like my Trek brand. They have flat stitched seams (and not in the back), they come all the way over your quads (vs. mid quad which annoys me) and they come down mid calf. (Thinking going on in my head: "maybe they fit like that because I'm short with a 30 inch inseam").
But alot of folks recommended PI or Defeet Kneekers on the other thread if that helps.

I like my PI kneewarmers. If you don't like the seam on the back of the leg, there's a complicated method of moving them to the inside of the leg... It involes twisting it 90 degrees or something or other... But some people might not like the PI logo being on the outside of their calf.
