Disco announces 2007 Kit design

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Pretty cool. The black color and the vertical orientation of "Discovery" on the jersey give it a strong look, IMHO...

I do, however, think it's time to get rid of the yellow accent on the sleeve... It's been a year and a half, guys, time to get over it.

So long as Lance is part-owner, that yellow stripe will stay.

Looks good, very American if you will compared to the Euro kits. I would think the black might be hot. I also try to not buy dark jerseys myself, that whole like to be seen thing...

With Armstrong's record breaking 7 tour victories the team deserves the little yellow band. Just my $.02

So is that the equivalent of the LiveStrong armband or something?

It's the whole LIVESTRONG thing.... as long as big brother lance has anything to do with the team that stripe will always be there.

I am not a big fan of the globe. I find that any high-res picture like that look pretty crummy on jerseys just cause they are strechted when worn.

Yeah... the globe's lame, but other than that, it actually looks really nice.

PS: What they really should have put on the jersey is a hot woman. Who says discovery has to always involve the globe?

That's not an aesthetic thing. It's a contractual thing. By having the yellow band, it becomes "LiveStrong" merchandise and the LAF automatically gets a portion of the sale. Since Lance is in huge with Nike (who makes the clothes) and is a part owner of the team. All Disco jersies are also LiveStrong branded.

As far as black kits being hot, basically studies have shown that at high temperatures with windflow, black fabrics radiate heat much more effectively than white, which in effect means that less heat gets to the skin.

Yea and $1 from the sale of each jersey does go to the LAF.

Why can't they get the word Discovery to fit completely on the back of both the jersey and the jacket ?? All that money and they can't shrink the word enough to fit entirely ???

Just my Two Cents.....

+1 on the hot woman on the jersey thing......

that looks pretty trippy actually. But I think I'll reserve judgment until I see it on someone. I think it's definitely going to stand out in Europe though

I like 'em. Don't own any black stuff, so this might be considered. We'll see what they go for....maybe I'll wait until 2008 and buy them cheap like I did with the 2004 stuff this year.

I also think it you took all the black and inverted that to white and made the White print black that would be a nice looking kit as well.

I, for one, always thought riders looked a bit cheesy in Disco kit, as it was so prevalent...but heck, I'd buy THAT kit. Looks great!

I like the shadow riders on the truck the best, kit looks nice to. My team gear is all black and when I opened the box I thought WTF but after the first ride it made no difference.

I'd buy a bus, and maybe a team car, to add to my collection of memorabilia

No black kit for me, though.

I never knew that about black......
I always liked those Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon jerseys but figured they were hot so never bought one.

The Disco jersey looks nice !
