how to put quick release wheel into a trainer
I just received a trainer for christmas. It was used, so it did not come with a manual. It is a balckburn trakstand, trx 1. Does anyone know how to get the quick release wheel into the holder?

I'm not sure about your question, but I have an older Blackburn and it won't clamp correctly on the newer quick-release skewers. I use an old (1992?) Shimano skewer when I put my bike in the trainer. I heard Blackburn has an adapter for newer QRs, but the old QR works fine.

There should be a slot in the mouting point, just rotate the mounting point until it fits flush against the QR or dropout, I dont have a trx 1, but most of these trainers are all the same. can you post a pic of what your dealing with?

it doesn't seem to fit right into the skewers, besides changing the wheel, is there anything else I can do?

the slot in the mounting point is not large enough for the quick release lever.

A lot of trainer manufacturers sell or include skewers that go with the trainers. Even then, a lot of older skewers will fit just fine. Just take out your current skewer and put it one that fits. Talk to your bike shop.

Yep...you have to use their skewer or it won't work no matter what you do. It's not supposed to. They aren't that hard to find.

You need an enclosed cam skewer for a most trainers. An exposed cam will not work...
Pick one up cheap at your lbs... http://sheldonbrown.com/skewers.html |
