Cleaning my Toupe...

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cleaning my Toupe...

For the same reason I didn't want to get white bar tape, my white Toupe is darkening. Saddle only has a few hundred miles on it. Any thoughts on returning it to its pristine glory?

I have tried the mild dish soaps and even a little bleach. No luck.

wear white bibs

sorry, I've got nothing... luckily bar tape can be cleaned (well, clean enough) and replaced cheaply.

edit: does specialized have any pointers on their website? or email customer support maybe?

Hairpieces made of human hair need a good shampoo and conditioner every seven to ten days just like synthetic hair, but the products and techniques vary. Consult your stylist to learn of products suitable for your specific wig. Keeping it clean is a good thing, but be aware that over-washing can wear it down fast. This will lead to fading and leave the strands in an uncontrollable, frizzy disaster. Be prepared to get more hair added to replace the hair which may haven fallen out during multiple washings or with regular brushing over time. After a routine wash either leave it overnight to air dry, or use a hairdryer on its lowest or coolest setting, or even a hood dryer on cool.

Sorry - I couldn't resist. Back on the real topic, my Toupe is black and doesn't suffer from your problem, but I would think that a leather cleaner that you can buy for auto upholstery would be a good place to start.
