Best Bike Rental in La Jolla?
I am traveling to La Jolla on business at the end of the month and want to incorporate some biking. I don't care to have my own bike abused and my wallet gouged by the airlines, so I would prefer a rental. I am also looking to rent a road bike. Does anyone have any recommendations on a good road bike rental shop in the La Jolla area?

You would probably get a better deal and have more luck if you looked in the beaches.
Ocean Beach, Mission Beach blah blah

There are several shops right by the beach that rent bikes. but I don't recall the name. Not sure you'll find any high end road bikes. Definitely worth doing. Very nice bike path heading north with views of the ocean, along Torrey Pines.
I stayed at the Hilton Torrey Pines, and got a piece of crap MTB from the hotel. Sad bike, but still had a good time riding
Off topic, Kayaking around the La Jolla caves is really a lot of fun. Good exercise, lots of sea life, spectacular scenery. Try Kayak La Jolla. IIRC, they may rent bikes as well.

I found this old thread and am resurrecting it to see if there is new info available. I am tagging along with my wife to a conference at the Torrey Pines Hilton in July. I sent an email to Calbike to see if they rent bikes. Any new suggestions? Good recommendation for routes from the Hilton? I would be looking for roughly 25 mile rides, mild hills would be OK but I am not used to really hilly terrain.

I rented a Cervelo from this place back in February. Quite painless - cost about $45 a day, I think.
