Kreitler rollers: Wheel Position

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You want to run the front axle as close as possible to directly over the front roller axle without being forward of the roller. Going away from this only makes the steering more twitchy.

The normal range is usualy anywhere from hub axel directly over roller axel, to hub axel 3/4" behind roller axel. Kreitler's are pretty fast to adjust so you should be able to hone it in in about 10 minutes on the rollers since there will probably be 2, maybe 3 setting's that will fall within this range based on the wheelbase of your bike.

I prefer to have my front axle just behind the roller axle.
