New Disco Kit Pictures!

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

hmmmmm... hope that black works better when it's on a normal jersey, and doesn't reflect the sunlight.

btw - did disco steal R900's new cannondale and put trek decals on?

Hmm...I didn't know Tony Cruz was back on Discovery. Nice! I'm also digging on the USA paintjob.

Sort of looks like the Cannondale Stars & Stripes bike that someone had posted last week.

Meh. Even if it does, that's too much black IMHO.

What do the warm-weather kits look like? Surely not so much black.

Agreed, the kit looks WAY better than the gray monstrosity of last year (current year's weekend warriors).

I LOVED the bold US Postal jersey, and I hope this direction stands out in the Peloton like the Postal kit did.

ps. Thanks, Nameda.

I don't get the whole black clothing concern out there. I wear all black jerseys/bibs in the blazing heat of the summer and am fine... maybe it's the white helmet that fixes the issue

how often do you ride for 6-7 hours a day in the 'blazing heat', with hour 30-60 minute climbs?

I can't imagine that having a partially black jersey is going to make or break a training routine like that. I've always heard the old wives tale about black retaining heat, but I've never known this to be so true that someone, in any sport, had to redesign the uniform to remove black so the athletes would live to see the next day.. for cyclists, if you are able to ride like you state above, then I can't see jersey color being all that big of a deal. Look at the Raiders... all black jerseys... or the Ravens... playing with tons of equipment and black jerseys... granted the Raiders have sucked for 4yrs now, but that isn't the reason why

edit: now that I've said 'old wives tale', please someone feel free to post tests and stats of black vs. white jersey selection vs. performance

How did the Illes Ballearas team do in TdF2006? There's were all black! Regardless, I bought a full set off PBK. I seriously love that logo. Now, if I could only find a 2005 IB kit in size 3...

oh, i forgot about the searing heat of Fall. it's devastating, especially when you consider that NFL players are playing for what - a total of 18 minutes of actual game time?
