1inch Headset recommendations?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

1inch Headset recommendations?

I need an inexpensive 1inch headset for my forthcoming build. What can you recommend for me?

In all honesty they probably all work fine. I'm using the basic model FSA 1", caged ball bearing, threadless headset and I can't fault it at all. Integrated headsets used to annoy me but this is a press in cup type just like we all used to use and its been flawless.

Regards, Anthony

I have used both the Ritchy WCS and Cane Creek S-2 1" threadless headsets recently. They can often be found on sale and are as nice as you could want.

I wanna know where you got the 1" fork. I assume it came with the frame

They're getting harder and harder to find down here

Its a Bianchi frame from the late 90's (I think). It came with a threaded steel fork and I wanted to replace it with a carbon fork that was threadless. I have been scouring eBay for a month or so and there are plenty to be had depending on your budget. Ideally I wanted a Reynolds fork but in the end settled for a used Kinesis that I thought was a good deal at $50 + shipping. Wasnt too bothered about anything too expensive as it is a budget build and my first. Hence it being budget

I had been at the Cane Creek S2 and FSA. I'm going to be moving over an FSA seatpost from my Lemond and was thinking about matching a stem to go with it. What is a good price to pay for the Cane Creek on eBay?

If you are willing to wait just a little bit, I am currently trying to replace a FSA 1" threadless and a Cane Creek 1" threadless on 2 of my bikes for some used Chris King bling. If you send me a PM, I would be more than happy to contact you and give one of them to you when it occurs for shipping cost only. Only hangup is that there is no exact date for completion of the project, as with all my vanity projects.
