i was recently in a crash and the little cap thing on my hood cracked off...is there anywhere i can buy a new one?

Any LBS that sells Shimano should be able to order some for you... I had placed an order with competitive cyclist for some other stuff when I had my crash and they special-ordered some for me and added them to the order.
