More than an obsession
I said once I was building a site to show my progress on a few cycling goals of mine. This site is basically a blog, and will be updated constantly for a year. Nothing is clickable yet, but I will be changing lots of it. Currently I'd hate to be on 56k and click to the site, as it is 100% images.

I feel the need to win. I don't know why. When I go out on the bike, I just feel invincible, yet I feel pain. Sometimes I think I like the pain. I get home and hurt so bad... and 2 hours later I want to go do it again. I'm going to push myself as far as I can go, and get a bike that will match my skill. That sounds wrong, as I don't know if I would ever be at the performance level of a Cervelo Ah, there I go thinking negative again. I can and will do it!
I do thank jumbud for helping me get started (inspiring!), and midcal for the rendering which made me drool. (on the site.)
Has anyone here done something of this nature before? aka... gone insane in this way?

Stick with the sport, it is addictive. Sounds like you're really enjoying it.
A quick note though... associating some bicycle with the abilities of the rider is not part of an "obsession" -- more of a "delusion." You can be really fast on a bike that isn't as shiny, our you can have the strength of a 5-year-old and ride a really shiny bike. There's no relationship.
Shiny bikes are great, but so are all the other bikes. The sport is great all by itself.

Absolutely. Going "all-out" however, I am going with the bike that's the fastest/best value I can without losing gas money to get to work. The P2C seems the be the best choice, and if not the P2SL. Other TT bikes out there don't seem to appeal to me. It probably has something to do with Cervelo educating me on technology. Other sites don't seem to do that. I do love the looks too....
I just went so hard on the trainer that I put my little fan on my body when I was done. It took me a second to realize that it was on HEAT; there was so much sweat that it did cool me down for a minute. If I can keep that pace and determination until the end of this year, the bike and I will dance beautifully. I've already rode thousands of miles (all but 26 alone) over a couple of years, I figure it's time to see what I can do. I am young, and I will exploit that.

That's cool. I just twitch a little when I think about a $2000 frame and "value" being used in the same sentence. It's probably like $300/second saved over a $99 Nashbar Aluminum frame in a 40k TT. It's a wonderful and beautiful frameset, but "value" just isn't a word I'd associate with it.

I was thinking about setting goals like this myself, but then I realized between getting my current bike built to my liking before the season, riding through my first full racing season, club fees, license fees, travel costs, repairs, race fees, and nutrition. All the money that I would/could save, is really going to be spent on those things.
I really want a Cervelo Soloist Team bike, not too crazy of a bike and cost-wise, but dead sexy none the less.
I'm just happy to be knee deep in a competative mindset for this year. need... warm... weather!
