Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Fuji League or Ace

Any opinions on these bikes? This are the only 2 I can possibly afford. Would rather just go with wheels and slicks on my mountain bike if these aren't any good. Thanks for the input.

don't get either of them.... throw some slicks on your MTB and SAVE, SAVE SAVE. you don't even need to waste your money on new wheels.

for someone who's crossing over from MTB, I would reccomend a 105-level bike at MINIMUM.

Components are fairly low end, but they can always be upgraded. The ACE looks alot like my Fuji Cross. Another bike you might want to look at is the specialized Allez, it is close to the price of the Ace. Have you test road either of these Fuji's?

I'm actually in your same position of turning my mtb in to a road/city bike. The best thing to do is just throw on some good slicks and new tubes, pump to the max, and if you really want to make it a truly road-worthy bike, buy a new rigid fork.
