Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It is sad, but team co-owner Lance should be able to drum up some corporate sponsorship. Unline F1 ($100-500M), it doesn't require that much money to run a pro team.

Really. I wonder if Lance will be able to get a new corporate sponsor? Don't sweat it.

He'll have a new title sponsor in 90 days.

Luckily the chopper crap has been moved to TLC. Discovery is now composed of "Mythbusters" with "Dirty Jobs" as the heir.

I have no idea why watching 3 guys with a combined IQ of 50 build things that belong in the clearance section of wally world is on a channel for LEARNING.

You can learn of a lot of things to avoid doing by watching idiots.

and ALL the bikes are the same: no rear suspension, no brakes, no front dampers, all solid steel stock.
Basically, $60,000 "old school" minibikes.

The real idiots are the guys that buy that crap.

I really enjoyed the show where that guy routed the exhaust under the seat, then set fire to his ass on the highway...genius...hard to imagine this is the same country that designs microchips and has NASA.

Ummm... I REALLY don't think the choppers the boys at OCC build and RIDE ON THE LOCAL ROADS here in Orange County have 'no brakes'. Do us all a favor and back that up lunkhead.

I'm not sure what 'idiots that buy that crap' you're alluding to, but 99% of those bikes are for corporate entitites/celebrities/charitable causes. Nobody RIDES Orange County Choppers after the boys road test them and the buyers subsequently ride them around the block for laughs. They put them on display and ultimately they'll all be owned by collectors.

The OCC bikes are nothing ore than decoration. If you want a real chopper go to west coast.

but I agree that the show was getting old. almost as old as watching those two ******* yell at each other every 5 seconds.

thank god for animal planet.

The contract was for 3 years, re-negotiated at the beginning of the '05 season. With a new head of the network coming in and the top 4 people leaving, including Billy Campbell whom I've seen w/LA before, this doesn't surprise me.

I would bet against it. This is going to hurt Johnny Vaughters; now he has to compete for an American title sponsor against LA.
