Shoe Sizing chart? did a search

Sorry if this was discussed recently...but I couldn't find it on a search...

Anyone know of a conversion chart for shoe sizing? I've owned a pair of Time Equipe Pro's for the past few years...buuut, the tag print has wore off the tongue...this making the Euro size unreadable...

I might be in the market for new shoes...but am unsure of the US to Euro sizing. I wear an 11.5-12 US shoe...is that around a 47 size for most Euro shoes?

Thanks for any help :)

shoe sizing varies widely from manufacturer to manufacturer.... so i stay away from conversion charts...

shoes are one thing [two?] that you should really buy in person. shoe size does not tell you anything about last shape. a size 42 diadora and a size 42 vittoria are going to fit very differently, even though they are technically the same size.

I would try the shoes on first. I just bought a new pair of Carnac Quartz, and I got a 46. I wear the same size street shoe as you do. The 47 was definitely too large in the Carnacs. The chart said a 45.5 was felt a little small. The 46's fit well.

At http://www.coloradocyclist.com/helpt...zingCharts.cfm you'll find a chart that converts US shoe sizes into six different lists for six different shoe manufacturers. The take-home lesson is that you have to try them on. In my experience, there can be variations even within the same manufacturer's line (I can't fit into size 44 Specialized road shoes, but I've been wearing that size Rockhoppers for three years).
