any riders from the greek system?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

any riders from the greek system?

This is kind of a two part question, and I'm sure part of it might make it foo bound, but I had to ask.....

Are any of the other riders in here active or alumnus from any greek systems (and if so where)

And question 2, besides possibly having to custom order jerseys, does any jersey company make greek society jerseys?

Hmmm, stereotypes get busted every day don't they?

Its been my findings that the only thing frat guys do to get fit is throw "wicked cool parties dude" and lift weights.

We're having a frat category at our crit at the University of Arizona. Can't want to watch those guys try to hold their lines on some of these corners. Should make for great entertainment!

You might be surprised. Half the guys at Indiana are in fraternities, and they have one of the best teams in the nation. Lots of Cat1/2/3 guys.

Yeah, there's a chapter here too... my wife and her colleagues get to work with the victims of their "good-natured fun."

I know it depends on what chapter/campus/etc., but there's some seriously horrific ***** that goes down that these guys just get away with, when really they should be doing jail time.

My school had almost zero frat life so I'm not sure what the big deal is.

But I do have a suggestion for your custom jersey question. Check out hincapiesports.com They make good jerseys in pretty small runs for cheap.

Everyone has their opinions on social groups. Some people hate country clubs, some love them; some people hate the Freemasons, some love them; some people hate fraternities and sororities, some love them. The fact is that my fraternity (and please understand I speak for it only, as I have no experience with the internal workings of others) is one of the biggest philanthropic social organizations on campus and in the United States. Since 1993, Lambda Chi Alpha has collected and donated more than 26 million pounds of food for the North American Food Drive. Annually, its brothers raise in excess of two million pounds.

Say what you will and think what you will; I know many individuals have had bad experiences with fraternity and sorority members, but let us not take the actions of an isolated sample as representative of the entire population.

Sigma Chi - Beta Psi (GT) '03

Very different from school to school in behavior, role in campus life, demographics, etc. Great way to meet people in my first couple of years at school. By the time I was an upper classman, there wasnt much point. I would definitely do it again.

We didnt have any cyclists in our house, although I knew a few other guys in some other fraternities who rode allot. They never had kits for their fraternity.

+1 on Hincapie. I know and ride with allot of their people here in Greenville. Competitive prices and I really like all of their stuff. They do allot for cycling here in Greenville.
