I'm guessing it's a 2004 Trek 5500 triple - the 5900 had an OCLV 110 frame. The '04 5500 double had a 10-speed Dura-Ace group, while the triple had a 9-speed Dura-Ace group.
edit: plus, that straight-bladed fork, according to this handy little timeline would suggest that it's a bike from 2003 and onwards. Don't know if I'm correct, but it seems likely.

I would also say that it's likely a 2004 5200 or 5500. It has 9spd DA shifters, but an ultegra crankset...hmmmm. Also,if you look closely...it has the tiny "Hand Made in The USA" with the little US flag on the chainstay. The lack of a Trek logo on the top tube make me wonder if it was a project one bike? Looks like maybe a 52cm?

It can be difficult to identify. Here's why I think it's a 5000.
I've never seen a 5200/5500/any madone etc. that wasn't badged as such. And stripping off the badging is difficult and expensive. The 5000 not only came unbadged but it also came as a frame only - often as a warranty replacement.
Now, the straight blade fork does bring it to '03 or later. But those Sestriere wheels are definitely from before '03, more likely around '00/01 - and never came stock on any OCLV, suggesting the possibility that the group and components did not come with the frame.
But I'm just speculating.

Hey Rad,
Just FYI...My 5500 postal bike, 03 5500 and 04 5200 have not badging/number designation to identify them as such. I agree with your comments about the fork and the wheelset.
I still think it's possible that it was a frame set order from the Trek Project One shop. Which might explain why it only has the Single set of trek and oclv decals and why it seems to have a mix of other components. They bought the frame and fork and finsihed the build themselves.
